Leesa Mattress Review

Construction

The Leesa is a 10″ foam mattress built from 3 layers of foam.

Top layer (comfort & cooling) – the top layer of the Leesa is constructed from 2.0″ of Avena foam. Avena is a latex foam alternative. Similarly to latex, Avena foam can provide cooling, comfort, and great bounce. However, Avena foam is recognized by users for superior durability and longevity.

Middle layer (support & pressure relief) – the middle layer of the Leesa is built from 2.0″ of memory foam. This layer is designed to provide great support and pressure relief for the mattress. When placing under Avena foam, memory foam can reduce the heat retention, and then provide the cooler feel for sleepers.

Bottom layer (foundational) – the bottom layer of the Leesa is made of a 6″ layer of high-density support foam. This layer simply acts as a strong base foam and provides the shape of the mattress.

Cover

Softness, stretchiness, and breathability are great things to describe Leesa’s cover. That’s because the cover is made of a unique blend of polyester and lycra. In addition, this material is also comparable to those usually used in sportswear. Along with that, the cover is fairly thick, which can provide slight cushion and softness additions to the mattress.

What about its aesthetic perspective? Leesa comes in 4-bar design. This makes unique, enough to stand out from the crowd where online mattresses are often designed with the simple look.

When you first lie down on Leesa mattress, you easily feel the great comfort from the Avena foam. it will be contoured to every curve of your body and make you feel more hug. If you are the sleeper with average weight, you will experience slight sinkage. With normal back sleeping position, it will sink down into the mattress about 1 – 1.5 inches. The stuck feel just happens in case you are a heavy sleeper. Furthermore, the quick responsiveness and bounce will make the mattress return to normal shape easily and quickly after pressures are taken away.

The Loom and Leaf is a 12″ foam mattress built from 4 different layers.

Top layer (cooling + comfort) – the top layer is built from 2.0″ of conforming foam. This layer will contour to your body shape, and then you will feel more hug. More ideally, this foam is infused with cooling gel, which means it can eliminate the heat retention.

The nice things of viscoelastic memory foam are great support and pressure relief. Along with that, it also has many similar features to latex including great bounce and quick responsiveness.

Third layer (transitional support) – the third layer is built from the 2.0″ layer of transitional support. It acts as the transitional layer and provides deep compression support.

Bottom layer (foundational) – the bottom layer is made of 5.5″ high-density support foam. Due to high density is strong to support above layers and become a strong base.

Leesa vs. Loom & Leaf mattress – Which One to Choose?

Leesa and Loom & Leaf are both good and has unique feel and support which can’t compare exactly. In addition, when choosing a right mattress for each individual, it definitely depends on the preferences and the sleeping position of that person. Here comes as advice:

Go to Leesa:

If you are interested in Avena foam – this foam is a patented foam of Leesa, it is fairly similar to Latex. This means if you’ve experienced the feels and support of latex mattress, and like it, Leesa can meet your needs.

If you prefer a balanced feel – Leesa is good at balancing the firmness, contour, and support. It lets your body sunk a bit but not stuck into the mattress. If you are interested in helping those in need – every 10 Leesa mattresses

If you are interested in helping those in need – when every 10 Leesa mattresses are sold, there is 1 mattress donated to shelters where has people in need. This means when buying a Leesa mattress, you already help others without any extra paying.

Go to Loom and Leaf:

If you are unsure about the right firmness of your sleeping position – Loom and Leaf is available two firmness levels for you to choose.

If you are interested in natural materials – Loom and Leaf isn’t 100% natural, but closer to natural, because it uses plant-based foams, natural thistle as a fire barrier, and an organic cotton cover. This means the mattress is safer to health and friendlier to the environment.

If you prefer cooling gel – the mattress will actually get warm during the night without having cooling gel because foam shows a high tendency to absorb and retain heat. However, Loom and Leaf has infused cooling gel evenly across the top layer of the mattress to minimize this issue and provide the cooling feel for sleepers.
