Tuft & Needle Mattress
The Tuft & Needle mattress is a 10” thick mattress that is build up two layers of foam.
Top layer (comfort) – top layer is made of 3″ of poly foam. This layer has a density of 2.9 PCF (pounds per cubic foot). This layer is designed to provide initial softness for the mattress.
Bottom layer (support + foundational) – this layer is made of 7″ of poly foam. This layer has a density of 1.8 PCF. This layer acts as the strong foundation to support the above layer and provide deep compression support for the sleeper.
Aesthetically, the Tuft & Needle cover is simply designed. It has 100% white color scheme with the Tuft & Needle logo embossed on a diagonal across the mattress. In addition, the thin cover helps improve the breathability for the mattress.

Firmness, Comfort, Support and Others
The Tuft & Needle mattress is designed to provide a medium-firm feel, which comes around a 6-6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. This “universal comfort” can fit the needs of the majority of sleepers.
When you first lie down on the mattress, you will constantly feel the softness from the top layer. This 3-inch poly foam will be contoured to your body shape and let you sunk into the mattress a bit, and then push you back on the top. In terms of pressure relief, the mattress can do quite well. For being said, you have more supportive feel. Along with that, this mattress is also quite good at providing responsiveness.
Does this mattress provide cooling feel? Tuft & Needle mattress isn’t designed with cooling gel infusion but the heat retention is something bearable. The thin cover does a good job in improving breathability.

Tempurpedic has several great mattresses that are worth comparing with Tuft & Needle, but for this comparison, I choose Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze. The Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze is constructed from four layers of memory foam, for total 11.5 inches in thickness.
Top layer (comfort) – This is made of 2” of viscoelastic memory foam. This top layer can provide a pronounced hug, contour, and pressure relief for the sleeper.
The 2nd layer (comfort + support) – this layer is made of 2” layer of viscoelastic memory foam, which is similar to the top layer. This layer is slightly firmer, providing a combination with top layer to provide softness, hug feel but not let sleeper trapped in the mattress.
The 3rd layer (support) – this is made of 4” layer of polyurethane foam. This layer acts as a great transitional layer for the mattress.
The 4th layer (support + foundation) – the bottom layer is made of 3.5” layer of polyurethane foam. This foundational layer provides deep compression support and strongly support the above layers.
The Tempurpedic cover is constructed from a blend of polyester (94%) and spandex (6%). This unique blend gives itself a unique feel. It is soft to touch, stretchy and breathable. More ideally, this material helps cover durable over time.
Firmness, Comfort, Support and Others
The Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze is designed to get the medium feel, which comes around a 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. The entire Tempurpedic offers a line of mattresses, which ranges from around a soft 3 up to as firm as a 9. This makes Tempurpedic suit the needs of more sleepers.
With this model from Tempurpedic, the mattress tends to provide more pronounced sinkage. If a sleeper with average weight lies down on the mattress, the sinkage it creates is around 2 inches. I mean the person who weighs around 150 pounds. There are many sleepers would like the hug feel this mattress provide, but stomach sleepers or heavy sleepers may not feel comfortable and supportive with this mattress. Along with that, this mattress won’t create bounce and responsiveness. In addition, when it creates deeper sinkage, the mattress also has higher tendency to absorb and retain heat.
